Job Description

This position will be responsible for the day to day operation of an Education Depot Classroom.  It is responsible for planning both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy, maintaining complete, accurate and updated records relative to the licensing agency, the facility and its clients. It is also responsible for complete and timely communications with all stakeholders.

Employees are expected to execute and implement the business processes, systems and policies/procedures for Education Depot. This includes the day-to-day operation of the Education Depot Classroom, all processes and supervision of Assistant Teachers and Classroom Aides, assisting in developing, training and coaching all Assistant Teachers and Classroom Aides to meet customer and business requirements. 

Successful candidate should take lead in implementation and execution of Child Assessments and Individual Development Plans for ongoing child development. Provide feedback and report progress to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.

The Cook oversees operations of the food program, including hygiene, meal planning and preparation, food distribution to rooms, supervision of student workers, record keeping and all kitchen operations; ensures adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation.

Job Requirements

(1) A current CDA credential.

(2) A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education or elementary education with a kindergarten endorsement and grades of C or better from an accredited college or university.

(3) A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university that includes one (1) of the following:

(A) Fifteen (15) credit hours in college level courses with document content relating to the needs, skills, development, or teaching methods of children six (6) years of age or younger and grades of C or better.

(B) A two (2) year associate degree in early childhood education from an accredited   college or university, with a grade of C or better.

(C) Lead caregivers that do not meet these qualifications shall:

(1) have eight (8) hours additional in-service training per year appropriate to the age group with which the caregiver is working;

(2) enroll in one (1) of the educational programs listed in subsection (a) within one (1) year of becoming a lead caregiver

(3) provide documentation showing successful completion of at least six (6) credit hours per year.
