Education Depot’s programming blends Montessori concepts that are conducive to maximizing each child’s ability to learn. Our curriculum consists of projects that reflect the interests of each child as they learn through exploration rather than correction.

INFANTS (up to 12mo.)

Our highly trained caregivers will work with parents to develop an individual care plan that fosters each child's growth and development. • Supports head and upper body when on stomach • Grabs and shakes hand toys • Pushes down legs on flat surfaces • Making cooing sounds • Explore objects with hands and mouth • Finds partially hidden objects • Crawling

OLDER TODDLERS

(2-3yrs)

Their imagination is in full swing, and their speech becomes more apparent. Your child must learn the early foundations for literacy. • Children show more and more independence • Says sentences with 2 to 4 words • Repeats words overheard in conversation • Begins to run • Makes or copies straight lines and circles • Dresses and undresses self • Understands words like “in”, “on”, and “under

Around 12 months of age, toddlers begin to experience better command of motor skills and language. After 12 months, toddlers should be able to do the following: • Crawl forward • Pulls up to stand • Put objects in and out of container • Responds to simple verbal requests • Says “dada” and “mama” • Imitates gestures • Test parental responses to actions or behavior

YOUNG TODDLERS (12mo.-2yrs)

Our curriculum begins an enhanced focus on literacy and language development. Activities are implemented to focus on expressive, receptive communication. • Using the bathroom independently • Playing imaginatively Using words like “but” and “and” • Naming at least four colors • Understanding size — knowing which is the small and which is the large object

PRE-SCHOOL (3-4yrs)

PRE-K (4-5yrs)

Our Pre-K program is designed to have students reading at age-appropriate levels by the time they enter kindergarten. • Read at age-appropriate levels • Give attention to stories for 10-15 minutes • Identify colors and shapes when named • Able to return to equilibrium after experiencing stress • Cut with scissors along a thick straight line • Use possessive forms of nouns and a series of conjunctions • Speak clearly and be understood by others

SUMMER PROGRAMS

During the school year Education Depot will take (successfully toilet-trained) students on field trips to various places. Field trips through our daycare center provide students with the opportunity to explore new and exciting interests, while having fun in a relaxed atmosphere.
